Race for Midnight

You live in a small village in 14th century Europe. One morning, you awaken with a deep gouge in your arm, which you wisely keep a secret. The other townsfolk state they saw a werewolf last night, and you deduce that you must be the culprit. The famed wizard Evro used to live in a nearby dungeon, and you've heard rumors that he had created a potion which could cure just such an affliction. Unfortunately, it is right around the time of the full moon, and you know than when midnight falls, you will transform once again into a werewolf. As you approach the dungeon, the ground beneath you gives way, and you fall into the underground chambers. You have until midnight to find Evro's potion, and escape the dungeon, or risk turning into a werewolf forever.

Race for Midnight is a text-based graphical adventure where instructions are entered via VERB NOUN commands. The player can switch between graphical and text mode, and must solve various puzzles by gathering items. The player has a total of 500 turns to complete the adventure. The player must battle with the denizens of the dungeon, which involves a random dice roll from both the player and monster. The player rolls first, and if they score high enough, they destroy the creature. If the monster rolls high, the player is hit. The player can take a total of 3 hits during an adventure, or they lose the game.
