Detective Grimoire: Secret of the Swamp is the spiritual successor to a free online flash game Detective Grimoire released in 2007. This is a fully-fledged downloadable game that has been made available simultaneously over multiple desktop and portable platforms.
The game sees you take the lead role of Detective Grimoire, examining crime scenes, finding clues and interrogating suspects. Cartoon-style graphics are used in a first-person perspective interface, which has been tailored more for touch interaction than keyboard and mouse. Full voice acting and background music is provided.
There are a combination of inventory-based puzzles and simple mechanical puzzles, as well as a unique word-based interaction with other characters as part of the interrogation process. In these sections you piece together the bits of information you have gathered from people to come to logical conclusions.
