Most of the game is played as a classic point-and-click adventure game. For instance, in one sequence players control Sasha as the four teens are stuck in detention. They need to distract a supervisor so they can tamper with the clocks to get out of detention quickly. Typical elements include talking to characters, moving around, manipulating items in the environment and solving puzzles. But there also other types of activities, such as a food fight mini-game played from a first-person perspective that was also part of the movie. The player gets to control all four characters with many environments to visit. Most of the story revolves around the school's cliques. Just like the movie it ends with a talent show where the girls perform a dance routine.
